PATATKA – Alvin A. Wells, 66, Bunnell, died Tuesday at his home in Bunnell following a brief illness. 

He was born in Pellicer Creek and lived in Palatka before moving to Bunnell 13 years ago. 

Survivors include his wife, Amorette; two daughters – Mrs. Eugene Carnes and Mrs. Sidney V. Gornto, both of East Palatka; three step-daughters – Mrs. I. J. Dupont, New Smyrna Beach; Mrs. T. H. Wadsworth and Mrs. Virginia Wyndham, both of Bunnell; two sons – Alvin L., Palatka; Rev. Wayne, East Palatka; two step-sons – J. E. Bowers, Bunnell; W. A. Bowers, Baxley, Ga.; two brothers – George, Melbourne; Wimberly, St. Augustine; a sister, Mrs. W. T. Brothers, Amarillo, Tex.; and 17 grandchildren. 

Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Bunnell. Burial will be in Pellicer Creek Cemetery. 

Calling hours will be from 1 p.m. today until noon Thursday at the Craig Funeral Home Bunnell, and from noon Thursday until service time at the church.

Wells Funeral Today At First Baptist Church

Funeral services for Alvin A. Wells will be held at two o'­clock this afternoon from the First Baptist Church of Bunnell. Mr. Wells passed away Tuesday morning at the Bunnell General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Rev. Charles Anders, pastor of the Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at the Pellicer Creek Cemetery.

He was born at Pellicer Creek and moved to Bunnell from Palatka 13 years ago. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was 66 years of age.

Survivors include his wife, Amorette Wells, Bunnell; 2 daughters, Mrs. Eugene Carnes and Mrs. Sidney Gornto, both of East Palatka; 3 step daughters, Mrs. Lee J. Dupont, New Smy­rna, Mrs. Virginia Wyndham and Mrs. T. H. Wadsworth both of Bunnell; 2 sons, Alvin Leslie Wells, Palatka and Rev. Wayne Wells of East Palatka; 2 step sons, J: E. Bowers of Bunnell and W. A. Bowers of Baxley, Georgia; 1 sister, Mrs. W. T. Brothers of Amarillo Texas; 2 brothers, George Wells of Melbourne and Wimberly Wells of St. Augus­tine. Also surviving are seven­teen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The body will rest at the Craig Chapel, East Moody Boulevard, until noon today and at the church from one o'clock until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of Craig Funeral Home of Bunnell.

Active pallbearers are Wilfred Hunter, P. A. Edmonson, Jack Clegg, Dave Perryman, Alfred Tucker, and C. H. Cowart. Honorary are Jim Bray, H. H. Murray, Fred Fruits, Walter Creal, Dale E. Brown Jr., Dick Cody, and J. B. Matherly.
