Viola Blackwelder Wiley, 62, of Palatka, died Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Putnam Community Medical Center after an extended illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her children and granddaughter and loved to fish. She loved to help others and was an outstanding cook, having cooked for Boilermakers Local 199 for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Wiley of Palatka; two daughters, Deborah Weaver and Catherine Ward, both of East Palatka; son, Dale Brooks of Palatka; two sisters, Leona Cloer and husband, Ted, and Beatrice Phiel, all of Palatka; two brothers, Artis Blackwelder of Palatka and Rocky A. Blackwelder of St. Augustine; granddaughter, Tiffany Bourgeois of East Palatka; brother-in-law, Jimmy Wiley and wife, Darlene, of Doctor's Lake; sisters-in-law, Christy Robinson of Mount Dora and Pam Wilson and husband, Steve, of Lake Panasoffkee; nieces, Ashley and April, and special family friends, Eddie and Bonnie Tomlinson of Palatka.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday (today), at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Pellicer Creek Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Coburn officiating.
