Evelyn Birdsall



Evelyn Birdsall, 97 of Palm Coast FL, passed away peacefully January 27, 2022 at her residence.

Evelyn was born April 18, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Edward and Cecelia Hansen Bilek.

She was a was a first-grade schoolteacher for many years. Evelyn moved to Palm Coast in 1980 from Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where she served as a lecturer. She enjoyed playing golf and was member of Palm Harbor Golf Club for many years. She continued to pursue her love of teaching and volunteered for Flagler County Schools for 29 years.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 74 years, Richard Birdsall whom she married in 1948. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Murphy and her husband Paul of Oxford PA, Ellen Freedley of Jacksonville FL, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, David Birdsall and Peter Birdsall.
A memorial Mass celebrating her life will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will follow after the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the St. Gerard Campus, 1405 US-1 St. Augustine, FL 32084.
