Sarah E. "Sally" Blazek

Sarah E. "Sally" Blazek, age 75, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2006 and formerly of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Pikes Peak Hospice Residence. She was a retired Junior High School Secretary.

Sarah Estelle Coffman was born on July 5, 1934 in Frederick, Maryland to the late Carl Burke and Ida Estelle (Lighter) Coffman. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School. Sarah married Robert Louis Blazek on December 29, 1953 in Brunswick, Maryland. She worked for many years for Champion Junior High School in Warren, Ohio.

Mrs. Blazek loved church activities and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish. She was a member of the Kinnikinnik Chapter of NSDAR and the Red Hat Society Gone Plum Purple Crazy Chapter. In Florida, Sarah had been a member of the Old King's Highway Chapter of the NSDAR and the Razzle Dazzle Girls Chapter of the Red Hat Society. For many years, she was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast, Florida.

She is survived by her son, Mark (wife, Jackie) Blazek, Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Lt. Carl (wife, Marissa) Blazek, USN, San Diego, California (now serving aboard the USS Preble) and Renee Blazek and her dog, Kayla, Colorado Springs.

Her husband, Bob, preceded her in death on January 17, 2006.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast. She will be inurned with her husband in the church columbarium.

Memorials in her name may be made to the church at 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, Florida 32164.
