Mavis Cynthia Burton

Mavis Cynthia Burton, 80, of Woodfair Lane, a retired third grade teacher for St. Augustine Elementary School in New York, died Tuesday at home.

Mrs. Burton, a graduate of Mary Mount Teachers College, Manhattan, NY, moved to this area in 1989 from her native New York City. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and the Orchid Society. She enjoyed plants.

Survivors include her hus­band of 59 years, Warren; a son, Harold III, Palm Coast; a daugh­ter, Charlene Brown, Richmond, Va.; a sister, Ellen Clare, New York City; seven grand­children; and 10 great-grandchildren.
