John E. Byrnes

John E. "Jack" Byrnes, 82, of Wynnfield Drive, a machinist marine with the Navy before his retirement in 1980, died Friday at home.

Mr. Byrnes, a Navy veteran of World War II, was born in Philadelphia, and moved here in 1990 from Deerfield Beach. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Italian-Ameri­can War Veterans and the Tin Can Sailors. He enjoyed fishing, reading, music, his garden and his dogs.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Olga; a son, John, Haddenfield, N.J.; a daughter, Christine Byrnes, Cape May, N.J.; a brother, Lawrence, Boothwyn, Pa.; a sister, Christine Illing, Secane, Pa., four grandchildren; and a great­grandchild.

Palm Coast Funeral Home is in charge.
