Desmond was born in Winsor, Ontario, Canada and served in the Canadian Navy during World War II. He moved to this area in 1992 from Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Desmond was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the Anchor Boat Club, the Elks Club in Palm Coast and the Palm Coast Cruzers.

Desmond is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia "June" Harbroe.

The family of Mr. Harbroe entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.
