Alfred "Fred" R. Irene

A Memorial Mass celebrating the life of Alfred "Fred" R. Irene, 68, of Palm Coast, who passed away Friday June 20, 2008, at Florida Hospital Flagler, will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy, Palm Coast. His family will receive friends from 12 Noon until time of Mass in the Memorial Room of the Church.

Mr. Irene was born February 17, 1940, to the late Alfred and Josephine (Caiazzo) Irene in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Palm Coast in 1997 from Sayville, NY. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and The Italian American Club.

Mr. Irene was a Master Plumber before his retirement in 1996 and a proud member of Plumbers Local #200 in Long Island, New York. He enjoyed many things such as art, music, painting, fishing, hunting, cooking, boxing, and sports, and was especially talented with woodworking. Mr. Irene loved his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Catherine, daughter: Michele Wenzel and husband Eric of Alpharetta, GA, two brothers: his identical twin Joseph Irene and wife JoAnne of Naples, FL, Paul M. Irene and wife Claire of Paso Robles, CA, granddaughter: Ryan Florence Wenzel of Alpharetta, GA.
