William E. Marringer

William E. Marringer, 73, of Palm Coast, who retired as superintendent of transportation with the Staten Island (N.Y.) Rapid Transit Authority, died Saturday at the home of his daughter in Palm Coast.

Mr. Marringer, an Army veteran of the Korean War, who was awarded the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal, was born in Kelso, Wash. He moved to this area in 1996 from Staten Island. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, AARP, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 14,000, and the A.F. Kivleham S1NY Chapter. Mr. Marringer enjoyed model trains, football, college basketball, country and western music; and reading about military history.

Survivors include four daughters, Lynda Anderson, Sandra Peterson and Suzanne McNeil, all of Palm Coast, and Marianne Graham, Staten Island; three brothers, Charles Marringer, Seattle, Richard Marringer, Orovill, Wash., and Marvin Fenn, Clovis, Calif.; a sister, Joyce Strange, Parker, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.
