Joseph T. Pucci, 98 of Palm Coast, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Pucci was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, a son of Anthony and Rosaria Adamo Pucci.

He was a 1931 graduate of Perth Amboy High School, where he excelled in sports, lettering in football, baseball and track. His school record for the most consecutive hits lasted for more than thirty years. Following high school he attended business college, and then worked in the office of AS&R Steel Works in Perth Amboy for several years. He then attended and graduated from the New York Technical School in New York, where he studied heating and oil burner service. He then started his own business, the Joe Pucci Fuel Oil Co., retiring in 1975.

Mr. Pucci was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing the piano, softball, bridge and pinochle.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, the former Helen Kovach whom he married May 2, 1936, a daughter, Angela (Alfred) Ricci of Palm Coast, four grandchildren, Alfred (Amy) Ricci of Highlands Ranch, CO., Joseph (Lisa) Ricci of Douglassville, PA., Anthony (Jeanne) Ricci of San Francisco, CA and Nina A. Ricci of Jinju, South Korea, four grandchildren, Andrew, Connor, James, and Adam, and many nephews and nieces.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.

A private Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the St. Joseph Monastery and internment will follow at the St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Columbarium.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home in Flagler Beach.
