James F. Sheekey, Jr.

James F. Sheekey, Jr., age 83, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2009 in Palm Coast, Florida. Jim was born in Bayonne, New Jersey on April 11, 1926.

He is survived by his lifelong loving wife of 63 years, Claire; daughter, Karen; son, Brian; and three grandchildren, Robert, Lindsay, and Brian.

Jim joined the Naval Air Corps during WWII; after service in 1945, he played with the Boston Red Sox for 5 years. He retired from Exxon Research and Engineering, in Linden, N.J., after 39 years of service. Jim and Claire moved to Palm Coast in 1985, where he was a long standing member of the Knights of Columbus and Historical Society.

A visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast on Saturday, October 17 at 9:30am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Outreach.
