Mr. Cary A. Bell, 64, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at his home in Lake Como following an extended illness.

He was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Frostproof, to L. Z, and Katherine Bell. He and his family moved to Crescent at the age of 5. He was educated in Pierson schools and worked local orange groves as a young man. Mr. Bell retired from Georgia-Pacific in 2000 after 36 years service within numerous departments, ending his career in the Kraft shipping department.

He was a member of the Anchor Baptist Church in Seville. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking and working with his sons on their stock cars. Mr. Bell passionately enjoyed spending time with his three children and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine McCullough Bell; father L. Z. Bell and son, Terry A. Bell.

Mr. Bell is survived by his wife of 43 years, Geraldine; two sons, Gary (Sherry) Bell of Lake Como and Mark (friend Kortney Miramontes) of Lake Como; daughter-in-law Jenny Bell and daughter, Christine Rout (John) of Pomona Park; three sisters, Harriet Smith (Glenn) of Seville, Abby Thayer (Bobby) and Frances McLaughlin (Robert), both of Lakeland; two brothers, James Ray Bell (Judy) of New Smyrna and Barney Bell (Janet) of DeLeon Springs; and 10 grandchildren, Ryan Metych, Terry Daniel and Noah Bell, Carney and Ronald Raut, Alexandria Jones, Holt Lynn and Mark Bell and Sage Miramontes.

His extended family includes Etheridge and Lila Raney, Roy and Celest Crosby, Oscar and Carol Smith, Buster and Maxine Martin, Larry and Joy Crosby, Randy and Christine Crosby, James and Trish Crosby, and Wayne and Judy Crosby; with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday (today) at the funeral home. Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, in the Seville Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Litzell, pastor, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, love donations may be made to the family of Haven Hospice, 6400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka.
