Gerald Ellis Boyd, Sr., 60, passed away at his home in Pomona Park early Thursday morning, June 15, 2000.
A native Floridian and lifetime resident of the area; he was a member of one of the original families that settled in what is now Seville. He worked as a plant supervisor in waste management. He was a veteran of WW II having served his country with the US Navy. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1641 Crescent City. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, shrimping, the beach and boating.
He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Boyd, Pomona Park; mother, Mildred Pert Casper, Seville; sons, Rodney Boyd, Pomona Park, Toby Boyd, Bardin, Ricky Boyd, Pomona Park, Reggie Boyd, Gainesville, Boogie "Jay" Boyd, Brandon, Steven King, Deland, Shaun King, Crescent City; daughters, Jennifer King, Crescent City, Dawn Boyd, Pomona Park, Sarah Woods, Pomona Park; sister, Barbara Jean Felix, Chula-Vista, California; ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2000 at the graveside in Seville Cemetery with Reverend Glenn Tillis officiating. His sons will serve as pallbearers.
