Hugh David Byrd, 72, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 after a long illness.

A native of Seville, Mr. Byrd lived in Pomona Park since 1964 and had attended Howe Memorial Methodist Church in Crescent City. A respected cattle rancher most of his life, he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Byrd is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Juli Byrd of Jensen Beach, Fl; sons, Jason Byrd of Melrose and Justin (Cathy) of Pomona Park; one brother, Julian (Kathy) Byrd of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Kacen and Kody; niece and nephew, Bridgette and Mike. Also his cousin, Bob and Carolyn Raulerson of Hiawassi, Ga.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Byrd will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 in the Seville Cemetery. Mr. Austin Tillton will officiate.

Arrangements are under the careful care of the Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home, 402 Cypress Ave. Crescent City.
