Jimmy was the second child and son of Ruby Edmund Cade & Frederick P. Cade, born May 6, 1934, in Seville, FL.

Jim was pre-deceased by his father F. P. Cade in 1988.

He is survived by his 103-year-old mother, Ruby Cade; two sisters, Betty Ann Carroll-Bolin (Junius) and Iris Rivers; and two brothers, Pasco Cade (Vivian) and Forrest Cade (Dianne); along with twelve nieces and nephews, 19 grand nieces and nephews, and one great-grandniece.

Jimmy graduated from Seville High School and Florida Southern College in Lakeland earning a degree in citrus culture. While in high school Jim was in the 4-H Club winning a trip to Chicago with a safety project. While in college he joined Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity and was the coxswain on the JV crew team. Jim was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Seville serving as chairman of the Official Board for one term. He was in regular attendance as long as his health permitted. Jim was Vice President of F. P. Cade and Sons, Inc., a fern and citrus growing and shipping company. He helped to organize the Central Florida Fern Coop and served as its first president.

Being very civic minded, Jim was elected Justice of the Peace in Seville for a term and was very active in the Seville Village Improvement Association where he was instrumental in getting the Little Panda's Day Care Center operational. In recognition of his philanthropy the SVIA dedicated the Cade Gymnasium in his honor at their 100th celebration.

In his younger years Jimmy became a very good skeet shooting competitor. He was a charter member of the St. Augustine Gun Club. In 1968 he entered the World Skeet Tournament in Kansas City, MO, winning the NSSA World Skeet All-Around Championship in the Class E category. Shortly thereafter he was totally surprised by being inducted into the Florida Skeet Hall of Fame in Lake Wales, FL. But above all, Jimmy's major and most enjoyable hobby was hunting. It didn't matter which kind—turkey, deer, dove, or elk—going hunting with friends put Brother Jim in his element.

Friends are invited to attend a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, Feb. 26, at the Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home in Crescent City.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Seville Trinity United Methodist Church and interment following at the Seville Cemetery.
