Ella Mae Clark, 90, of Palatka died Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at the Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka following an extended illness.

She was born in New Lacey, Ga., and moved with her family to Seville in 1923 where she lived until 1984 when she moved to Palatka.

She was a dedicated member of the Lemon Heights Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was Secretary of the W.M.U. She enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years: Charlie B. Clark; her parents: J.H. and Rosetta Carter; two brothers: Don L. Carter and Lois Carter; and one sister, Willie Bare.

She is survived by two brothers: Henry Osro "H.O." Carter, Palatka; and Prentis Carter, Coppers Cove, Texas; several nieces and nephews including one local niece: Dorothy Causey, Palatka; and several great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to the Lemon Heights Baptist Church, 2400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, FL 32177.

Calling hours will begin 11 a.m., Friday at the Lemon Heights Baptist Church in Palatka.
