Seville - - An elderly man was burned to death yesterday in a fire that burned his home to the ground.

Found dead in the home after the fire was Charlie D. Cowart, 73, lifelong resident of Seville.

The blazing house, about a mile south and east of here, was spotted by a motorist on S.R. 17. It was destroyed before firemen arrived.

Peace Justice Erik Prevatt, acting as Coroner, ruled Cowart's death was due to the fire and said no inquest will be necessary.

A former farmer, Cowart is survived by one daughter, Lois, Savannah, and a number of nieces and nephews.
