Gladys Coleman Cowart, 96, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Cowart was a lifetime resident of Crescent City and was a hard working woman having worked as a farmer and later, while living at Lakewood Nursing Center, she took care of all the flowers at the nursing home until her health recently prevented her from doing so.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Jean) Cowart of Crescent City; daughter, Joy Wetherington of Silver Springs; and five grandchildren.

At the family's request interment will be private.

Arrangements are under the careful care of Clayton Frank and Biggs Funeral Home, Crescent City.
