Ernest J. Dees, 66, died at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach on Sunday, April 12, 2015 after an extended illness.

A native Floridian, he was born and raised in Pierson and attended Taylor High School. He moved to Seville when he married forty eight years ago to Jean McCormick. He was a fern grower and in his spare time he loved coaching Little League, Babe Ruth baseball and softball. He was very involved in his church and was a former deacon until his health declined. He was a member of Word of Faith Bible Church near Crescent City.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father in law, Mac and Dot McCormick.

He is survived by wife of 48 Years, Jean Dees, Seville; Son, Justin (Kathy) Dees of DeLand; Daughters, Jeneice (Chris) Haun of Ormond Beach and Shawn (Kirk) Robinson of DeLeon Springs; Sisters in law, Faye (Lamar) Jones of Lyons, Georgia and Audry Pringle of Seville; Grandchildren: Coleton, Savannah, Amber, Brayden, Raechel and Parker; Nephews, Mike (Mandy) Pringle of Deland and Daryl (Rhonda) Jones of Lyons, Georgia; Five great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15, 2015) at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Word of Faith Bible Church with Reverend Howard Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Seville Cemetery.
