Eleanor Rae Flowers, 67, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 in Roberts Hospice Care Center in Palatka as a result of numerous medical conditions. Born June 23, 1944 to Fannie S. and O. C. Kelly in Haines City, Florida, the Kelly family moved to Dade City in 1948 where Eleanor attended elementary through graduation at Pasco High School in 1961.
Her career with the telephone companies began in 1961 in Tallahassee where she met her soul mate Jack Flowers. They were married June 22, 1968 in Jacksonville Beach and lived there until moving with their daughter, Deanna, into their home in Pierson, Florida in 1975. Following 32 years of service, Eleanor retired from Bell South in 2002.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O.C. and Fannie S. Kelly and brother Foy Kelly. She leaves behind husband Jack Flowers Pierson, Florida; daughter DeAnna (David) Bills Melbourne, Florida; brothers Kerry (Barbara) Kelly Mary Esther, Florida, John William Kelly Buford, South Carolina, Doyle C. (Vickie) Kelly Dade City, Florida; sisters Evelyn (Ralph) Taylor Lakeland, Florida, Patricia Ann (Don) Hilderbrand Dade City, Florida; brother in Law Jake (Fran) Flowers Jacksonville Beach, Florida; sister in law Kay Licciardi Jacksonville, Florida; Uncle Edward (Dene) Swearingain Savannah, Georgia; aunts Irene (Norm) Gerri Newark, Delaware, Ruby Kelly Pahokee, Florida; numerous cousins; seven nieces, nine nephews, and two great nephews.
Services will take place at the First Baptist Church of Seville, 1804 Church Street, Seville, Florida on Saturday September 10, 2011 with visitation at 10:00 AM and funeral services at 11:00 AM with Reverend Daniel Kuhr officiating. Interment will follow in Seville Cemetery.
