Alvin 'Cricket' Gamble
SEVILLE - Alvin "Cricket" Gamble, 72, of Coleman Road, died Nov. 1, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Gamble retired as a fern grower. Born in Baxley, Ga., he moved to Seville in 1940 from Georgia.
He raced cars in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and was known by the nickname "Eightball." He enjoyed working on cars, and was a good mechanic.
Mr. Gamble served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of more than 52 years, Janet; one son, Terry of Bunnell; two daughters, Donya Cummings of Waynesville, N.C., and Staci Lewis of Seville; two brothers, Vernon of Seville, and Lamar of Maben, Miss.; one sister, Lucille Welch of DeLeon Springs; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
