Mac Roy was in a motorcycle/car accident (May 10). He passed away May 12, 2016 at the Halifax Hospital, Daytona Beach, FL from trauma to the head and chest.
He was born in Fort Pierce, FL on Sept. 9, 1963 to McCoy (deceased) and Ima Gene Gamble (DeLeon Springs).
He graduated from Pierson Taylor High School. Roy was in the US Military (Army) for 8 years. He was stationed at Colorado Springs, Colorado. He met and married Sheila Gamble (divorced). Roy enjoyed fishing, bowling, riding his motorcycle, his biker friends and playing the lottery. He worked for Aluminum Plus for 14 years.
He is survived by: Two brothers and a half-sister, Mark Gamble(Orange Park, FL) & family, Jamie Gamble (DeLeon Springs), Charlene Lewis( DeLeon Springs) & family; his mother Ima Gene Gamble (DeLeon Springs); his wife Carla Gamble (Deltona, FL); Carla’s daughter and 4 boys (Deltona, FL), Amanda Walker, Valerie Shierling, a loving friend and supporter (DeLand, FL), Aunt Edna Brooks (Moultrie, GA) & family, Aunt Julia Day (Sebastian, FL) & family.
Roy was a kind and loving person to everyone. He was only 52. The Lord took him before he had a chance to grow old. “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.” Aunt Lucille Welch (DeLeon Springs) & family. Thanks for your love and support from the family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 19th from 6-8pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home, 126 E. New York Ave. DeLand, FL 32724.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20th at 10am at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Seville Cemetery, Seville, FL.
