DeLand - Louvenia Strickland Graham, 81, of Seville, the widow of J. D. Graham, died at 2:35 a.m. yesterday at her home following a long illness.

Mrs. Graham, who came to Seville in 1908 from her native Harry County, S.C., was the mother of former County Commission Chairman, John Graham.

Also surviving are two other sons, W. D. Graham of Seville and E. P. Graham of Loris, S.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Lela Maryes and Mrs. Lulie Pittman of Seville and Mrs. Kitty Orrell, Glen Olden, Penn., also two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Marie Graham and Mrs. Lorraine Graham of Seville; 22 grandchildren, 28 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren survive.

Funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at First Baptist Church of Seville with Rev. Jack L. Stewart, pastor, officiating and assisted by Rev. J. T. Pennington of the Seville Methodist Church. Burial will be in Seville Cemetery.

 

NOTE:  Jefferson Davis Graham had 9 children, 7 with his first wife and two with Louvenia, whom he married around 1897 according to the 1900 U.S. Federal Census. The two children he had with Louvenia were Schley and Alexander Graham. (C.S. Deen)
