J. C. Lathrop, 77, died Thursday afternoon at HCA Putnam Community Hospital following a long illness.

A native of Clio, Ohio, he moved to Seville from Fernandina Beach in 1970.

He had worked for ITT Rayonier. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Seville.
