Mrs. Mary Thelma Mayfield, 78, of Mayfield Road, Seville, died Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale following a long illness.

Born in Preston, Ga., Mrs. Mayfield moved to Seville from Sneads around 1925. She was employed for many years at the A. M. Prevatt Hardware Store in Seville. Mrs. Mayfield was a member of Crescent City Chapter 200, Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors are one son Howard Mayfield of Orange Park; three daughters, Wylene Lapinski of Houston, Texas, Martha Kleingartner of Fort Lauderdale and Eleanor Holingsworth of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, John Davis of Branford; a sister, Esther Edmund of Tampa; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the Clayton Frank & Sons Funeral Home in Crescent City.

MAYFIELD, MARY T. – Funeral for Mrs. Mary Thelma Mayfield, 78, of Seville, who died Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Clayton Frank and Sons Funeral Home in Crescent City with the Rev. Ted Pennington officiating.

Burial will be in the Seville Cemetery. Graveside services will be conducted by Crescent City Chapter 200, Order of the Eastern Star.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the Clayton Frank and Sons Funeral Home in Crescent City. Clayton Frank and Sons Funeral Home of Crescent City is in charge.

SEVILLE – Thelma Mayfield, 78, a long-time resident of Seville, died in Ft. Lauderdale on March 10 after a long illness.

She leaves a son Howard Mayfield of Orange Park; three daughters, Wylene Lapinski of Houston, Tex., Martha Kleingartner of Ft. Lauderdale and Eleanor Holingsworth of Virginia Beach, Va., and eight grandchildren. The children, who grew up in Seville, were all home for her funeral conducted by a former past, the Rev. Ted Pennington of Port Orange on March 13, at the Clayton Frank Funeral Home in Crescent  City.

The graveside services were conducted by her Eastern Star Chapter of Crescent City.
