CAUSE OF SEVILLE FARMER’S DEATH STILL UNDETERMINED
Volusia County Sheriff’s Department investigators said this morning it may be another three or four days before a determination of the cause of death of 32-year-old Seville farmer, Douglas B. McBride, can be completed.
McBride was found dead in a pasture at about 8 p.m. Monday after friends and members of his family became concerned that he had not returned. He had left on a tractor at about 3:30 that afternoon.
The cause of death was not determined at the scene. McBride’s body was take by Beacon Ambulance to Halifax District Hospital in Daytona Beach for an autopsy.
Funeral services for the young fern, citrus, and cattle rancher will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Clayton Frank and Sons Funeral Home in Crescent City.
The Rev. Murray Teuton, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Seville, will officiate. Burial will be in Seville Cemetery.
McBride was born in Jacksonville and lived in Seville since infancy. He was a member of the Lake George Hunting Club and a Seville Fire Department volunteer.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Hal and Jeff McBride of DeLand; a step-son, Lester Price of Seville; four step-daughters, Audrey, Phyliss and Valarie Price, all of Seville, and Mrs. Ruby Mills of Seville; his mother, Mrs. Mabel McBride of Crescent City; and a step-grandson.
