James H. "Mac" McCormick, 81, died Tuesday morning, April 27, 1999.

Born in Nashwauk, Minnesota, he moved to Seville seventy-five years ago from Louisiana. He attended school in Seville. He served his country with the U.S. Army and during his tour of duty he received two purple hearts and a bronze star. He worked for the State of Florida as a welder repairing draw bridges. He passed on his knowledge of welding and taught several local people to weld.

He was a member of the Anchor Baptist Church in Seville and the V.F.W. Post in Pierson, Fla. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. McCormick and sister, Margarite Sweat.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 2 p.m. at the Anchor Baptist Church in Seville with Rev. Randy Claypool officiating. Burial will follow services in Seville Cemetery.
