Cleveland Wilson "Sonny" Mew, 96, passed away at his home in Seville Saturday, May 4, 2013. A lifelong resident of Seville, he was the oldest of six children.

He served his country with the United States Navy during World War II. Later he worked at Prevatt's Flower Shop in Seville and grew all of the flowers used in the shop for many years. He also worked at the Seville Elementary school for 10 years as their custodian. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seville and served as Deacon there for 75 years. In his spare time he loved fishing on Lake Louise.

Mr. Mew was preceded in death by his wife, Louise in 1999 and son Richard Mew in 2005.

He is survived by daughter-in-law Grace Mew, Seville, Florida; grandchildren Randall (April) Mew, Lakeland, Florida, Roxanne (Michael) Butcher, Tucson, Arizona; great-grandsons Garrett and Gavin Butcher, Tucson, Arizona; great-granddaughters Taylor and Savannah Mew, Lakeland, Florida.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Seville with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Howard Cox, assisted by Pastor Danny Kuhr will officiate services. Burial will follow in Seville Cemetery.
