MEW, JAMES CORBETT - Funeral service for James Corbett Mew, 77, Seville, who died February 4, 2008, at Florida Hospital Deland, will be Friday, February 8, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Seville, with the Rev. David J. Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Seville Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, February 7, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home.

Mr. Mew was born in Seville on March 26, 1930, and was a lifetime resident. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Seville. He was retired as a fern grower and was a founding member of the Seville Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Mew, Seville; sons, Clay Mew and lance Mew, both of Seville; daughters, George Ann Braden, Jensen Beach, Frances Yarborough, Geneva, Fla., and Amy Minger, Seville; brothers, C.W. Mew, Seville, and Albert Mew, Pierson; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home, Deland, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mew retired as a fern grower. He was a lifetime resident of his birthplace of Seville.
