Grace Deen Newman, 82, former Seville Postmaster and Seville resident for more than 40 years, died May 6 at her home. Mrs. Newman was born in Baxley, GA. She was a member of the Anchor Baptist Church of Seville.
Survivors are two sons Robert of Seville and Clinton of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Mary L. Smith and Betty L. Smith, both of Seville; four sisters, Emily Wells, Dorothy McCormick and Nadine White, all of Seville, and Emma Prevatt of Jacksonville; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Clayton Frank & Sons Funeral Home in Crescent City from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
NEWMAN, GRACE D. - Funeral services for Grace Deen Newman of Seville who died Sunday, May 6 at her home will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Anchor Baptist Church, Seville with the Rev Randy Claypoole, Pastor and the Rev Troy Warnum officiating.
Mrs. Newman's grandsons will be pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Clayton Frank & Sons Funeral Home in Crescent City from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Seville Cemetery.

SEVILLE - Grace Deen Newman, 82, a former postmaster of the town, died Sunday at home.
Born in Baxley, Ga., Mrs. Newman had lived in Seville for more than 40 years. She had worked at the Seville Post Office as a clerk for 22 years before being named acting postmaster Jan. 1, 1969. She was a member of Anchor Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert P., Seville, and Clinton, Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Mary L. Smith and Betty L. Smith, both of Seville; four sisters, Emma Prevatt, Jacksonville, and Emily Wells, Dorothy M. McCormick and Nadine White, all of Seville; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Clayton Frank and Sons, Crescent City, is in charge.
