Richard W. Newman, Astor Park, died in that city Saturday morning at the age of 53.

Born in Seville, Mr. Newman was a veteran of World War II and worked as a commercial fisherman.

He is survived by a step-son, Gary Boyd of Lakeland, and many cousins in the Seville area.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Seville Cemetery with the Rev. Murray Teuton, pastor of Seville Baptist Church, officiating.

Clayton Frank and Sons Funeral Home of Crescent City is in charge of arrangements.
