FUNERAL  CHAS. OWNES HELD LAST TUESDAY

Mr. Charles Owens, who had been confined to his home in declining health for nine months, died at his home, this city, last Sunday.

Mr. Owens was born at Myrtle Beach, S. C., January 2, 1900, and several years ago cane to Crescent City to make this his home, and had many friends who will regret to learn of his death.

For more than nine months, Mr.  Owens had bravely fought the battle to regain his health, but last Sunday, immediately following his brightening up for a brief period, death struck him and he passed out quietly almost without warning.

Mr. Owens was a Christian young man and was highly esteemed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sarah Owens, three brothers, Messrs. John Owens of this city, and C. M. Owens of Ft. Curtis, Va., and Horace Owens, of Myrtle Beach, S. C.; one sister, Mrs. Cox of Hammond, S. C.

Funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the cemetery at Seville.

Pallbearers were Messrs. Clyde H. Stockston, Clifford Hunter, John Reynolds, D. L. Peterson, R. M. and Porter Miller.
