Alonzo Beaugard Prevatt, 78 year-old Seville pioneer resident and citrus grower, died in his sleep at his home last night of a heart ailment. Retiring apparently in good health last night, the well known Volusian was found dead at 6 a.m. by members of his family. A physician said he had been dead for several hours.

A resident of the north-end community for the past 54 years, Prevatt and his widow celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last December 13th.

Funeral services are scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at the Methodist Church in Seville. The casket will lay in state at church from 2 to 4.

Pallbearers selected are; Commissioner John Graham, Ernest Meyer, E. C. Byrd, C. H. Baguley, Circuit Court Clerk I. Walter Hawkins, State Attorney, Murray Sams, Dr. Hugh West and Dr. W. J. Williams.

Allen-Summerhill is in charge.

Born March 29, 1861 in Knoxville, Ga., Mr. Prevatt came to Seville with his family in 1885 where they homesteaded and became prosperous farmers and citrus growers.  He was vice president of the Volusia County Fair Association when it was directed by Earl W. Brown.

Survivors include the widow whom he married at Palatka in 1888; two daughters, Mrs. C. Smith of Seville and Mrs. Elsa Tedder of DeLand; and two sons, W. A. and Erik of Seville. There are 12 grandchildren surviving.

PREVATT FUNERAL THIS AFTERNOON

Funeral services for Alonzo B. Prevatt, 78, pioneer Volusia citrus grower who died at his home in Seville yesterday were scheduled for three this afternoon in the Seville Methodist Church; Rev. H. A. Bane and Rev. I. S. Murphy to officiate.

It was announced here that the Circuit Court clerk's office would be closed this afternoon in honor of the deceased.
