SEVILLE — Douglas Erik Prevatt, 62, of Prevatt Road, died Jan. 26, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Prevatt was the owner of Prevatt’s Flower Garden in Seville, a cattleman on the Allen Ranch in Flagler County, a paramedic and emergency medical technician for Volusia County for several years, a fern grower and a flower grower.

Born in Tampa, he was a lifetime resident of Seville. He attended Seville Elementary School and T. DeWitt Taylor High School, graduating in 1964, and Daytona Beach Junior College. While in school, he played football and basketball, and was a member of Future Farmers of America.

Mr. Prevatt was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Seville. It has been said he was a man of many interests, including being active in his church, singing in the choir, skydiving and dancing, and he was a cowboy at heart.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Prevatt was preceded in death by his wife, Ida. He is survived by one sister, Norma Jones of Pierson; four nephews, Scott Jones and Stacy Jones, both of Pierson, Doug Henry of Seville, and “Little Bud” Henry of Bunnell; two nieces, Susan Jones Holmes of Pierson and Maria Henry of Bunnell; and his newfound love, Janelle Knight of Ormond Beach.
