SEVILLE - James Dozier Prevatt, 80, of Lake George Road, who was an independent trucker and a citrus, produce and fern farmer, died Sunday at home.

Mr. Prevatt was a native of Seville and a lifelong resident of the area. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Moose. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served as an aviation machine mate aboard the U.S.S. Munda.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Madeline; a son, Timothy, Seville; two daughters, Karen Oates, Seville, and Diana Sangston, California; a brother, Rubert, Lakeland; and two grandchildren.

PREVATT, JAMES DOZIER - Funeral service for James Dozier Prevatt, 80, Lake George Road, Seville, who died peacefully at home Sunday, June 9, 2002, after a long illness, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Seville with Pastor Troy Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Seville Cemetery. Family will welcome friends and family at Clayton Frank & Sons Funeral Home, Crescent City, today (Tuesday, June 11) from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Mr. Dozier lived his entire life in his hometown of Seville. A was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as an aviation machine mate on aircraft carrier USS Munda. James, who had an abiding love of the land, was an agricultural grower of citrus, produce and leatherleaf fern his en­tire life. He was also an independent trucker. He enjoyed membership in Loyal Order of the Moose and United Methodist Church in Seville.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Jack Prevatt.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Madeline E. Prevatt, Seville, FL.; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Robert Sangston, California, and Karen and Doug Oates, Seville; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Kathleen Prevatt, Seville; and brother, Rubert Prevatt, Lakeland.

The family requests contributions to Oncology Center at Shands, the University of Florida, Gainesville, or to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Counties, 3800, Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32119.
