ORLANDO - Edward John Purvis, 43, a former resident of Seville, died April 29, 2002, at Winter Park Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Purvis worked at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division, in Orlando. Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, he moved to this area from Germany in 1963.

He graduated from Taylor High School in Pierson in 1977, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida with a master's degree in electrical engineering.

Mr. Purvis was Christian.

He is survived by his parents, James Earl and Patience Purvis of Seville, and a brother, James E. Jr. of DeLand.

Allen-Summerhill was in charge.
