Jarred Micah Smith, 26, died from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident in Ponce Inlet on August 18, 2012.

Jarred was a native of Volusia County and lived in Pierson nearly all of his life. He graduated from Taylor High School in 2003. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for P & S Paving and also C & L Enterprises. He liked motorcycles, fishing, playing video games and collecting military memorabilia.

He is survived by: parents Billy and Rhonda Kern, Pierson, FL; brothers Michael David Kern, Kingsport, TN, Dylan Kern, Pierson, FL; sisters Miranda (Jason) Clarke, DeLand, FL, Kimberly Kern, Kingsport, TN; nephew Roy Russell, Kingsport, TN; niece Heather Raymond, Kingsport, TN; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held today (Thu., Aug. 23) at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Seville with Pastor Daniel Kuhr officiating. Burial will follow in Seville Cemetery.
