SMITH, JEANNE CEPEDA, 91, of Orlando, passed away February 11, 2011 at Florida Hospital South. She was born in Lake City, Florida on September 23, 1919 to Victor Manuel Cepeda and Ena Garrett Cepeda.

She was the youngest of the three children. Jeanne completed high school and an AA degree. She was a civil service employee working in payroll for the base hospital in Orlando. Jeanne was active in her community in volunteer activities including Auxilian at Winter Park Hospital Gift Shop, providing sandwiches for the homeless through her church, Park Lake Presbyterian, Salvation Army Bell Ringer during the holiday season, and election poll worker.

Jeanne was a member of the Mizpah Chapter #190 Order of the Eastern Star, The Daughters of the Nile, Crown Court #33 Order of Amaranth, the Elks Club, and Past Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls.

Jeanne is survived by one brother, Manuel N. Crepeda, of Mobile, Alabama; one nephew, Manuel L. Cepeda, M.D.; and two nieces, Carole Cepeda Pauw and Anne-Marie Cepeda, M.D. She also has grand nieces and nephews, as well as great grand nieces.

Jeanne is also survived by many family members of her late husband, C. Emory Smith, including his two sisters, Vivian Friez and Anna Sistrunk, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 24, 11 a.m. at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, 301 N.E. Ivanhoe Blvd. Orlando, 32804
