SEVILLE - Joan L. Smith, 71, of County Road 305, the postmaster at the Seville Post Office, died Thursday at home. 

Mrs. Smith, a native of Cincinnati moved here in 1960 from Ohio. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the National League of Post Masters.

Survivors include four daughters, Judy Lacy, Flagler Beach, Robin Powell, Pierson, Deborha White, Whispering Pines, N.C., and Cynthia Smith, Gainesville; and three grandchildren.

Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home, Crescent City, is in charge.

Funeral service for Joan L. Smith, 71, Seville, who died at home Thursday, June 2, 2005, will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Seville. Burial will follow at Seville Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home, Palatka.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Smith moved to Seville in 1960 from Ohio. She was Seville Post Office postmaster for many years until retiring in 1986. She was a member of National League of Postmasters and Trinity United Methodist Church, Seville. She fought a courageous battle overcoming the effects of the stroke she suffered in 1986.

She was predeceased in 1988 by her husband, Chester.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Judy Lacy (Benjamin), Flagler Beach, Robin Powell (Victor), Pierson, Deborha White, Whispering Pines, N.C., and Cynthia Smith, Gainesville; and three grandchildren.
