November, 12, 2001Veronica Torres, 18, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Veronica was born in DeLand and resided in Seville, Fla. she was a senior at Taylor Middle High School in Pierson where she was chosen to be Homecoming Queen.
She is survived by her mother, Aurora Solis of Seville; father Jesus E. Torres of North Dakota; brothers, Jesus Torres Jr. and Christian Resendic of Seville; sisters, Maria Ortiveros and husband, Matias, of Haines City, Louisa Resendic of Seville; grandparents, Guillermo Solis, Evangelina Solis; grandmother, Feliciana Moreno of Pierson; five aunts and 13 uncles.
Funeral service was held at noon Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at El Shaddai Pentecostal Church in Seville with the Rev. Oscar Trevino officiating. Interment followed at Seville Cemetery.
