Samuel Varnes, who for the past 50 years has been a successful farmer in this section, passed away at his home north of Seville last night at 10:30. He was born in Putnam County.

The death was reported by his son. R. R. Varnes.

Funeral services were held at three today at the Baptist Church in Seville.
