Lila Mae Williamson, a homemaker and Laundromat manager, passed on to the Lord quietly in her sleep, at the age of 97 1/2, with her loving family at her side.
Married 34 years, she was the beloved wife of U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Willard Allen Williamson. As a military family they traveled throughout Europe and were stationed in England for — years. They lived in 7 U.S. states before his retirement in Orlando, FL. The family enjoyed camping vacations to many of America's national parks and tending to the animals and fruit trees on their rural homestead in Orlando.
Lila's husband died in 1972 and she remained widowed.
Admired by her neighbors for her laughter and positive, jovial disposition, Lila was known for her willingness to extend help and care giving to others. She was a committed Christian who believed in Jesus Christ and prayer. She was a Girl Scout troop leader, member of the Eastern Stars, an immaculate housekeeper and enjoyed cooking and crocheting afghans for others.
A hard worker throughout all her years, her motto was: "Make hay while the sun is shining!"
She was still bowling and roller skating weekly in her late 70's. She looked for the good in every person. When a Winter Park, FL, nursing home she was working in shut down, its residents were displaced. So Lila cared for 2 of these women in her family residence in Orlando. Thereafter, she also cared for her older sister. She shared her faith through her kind actions towards all.
Her survivors are two daughters and each of their two children. Daughter, Linda Huggins, of Georgia and Lilas grandchildren, Sarah Kate Hunt and Casey Huggins. Lila's youngest daughter, with whom she lived the past 2 years, Heather LeeWanda Martin and Lila's grandchildren, Amy Joy and Jaimee Martin of Walden, NY.
Having outlived most of her family, she is predeceased by both of her husbands, all her brothers and sisters, and the oldest of her three children, her son, Marshall Wayne Bellamy of Jacksonville.
Arrangements by Millspaugh Funeral Home in Walden.
By her wishes, Lila will have a graveside burial service in Seville, FL, in the Robinson family plot.
