SEVILLE – Mr. E. M. Woolwine, a resident of North Volusia for the past 40 years, died at his home Tuesday afternoon after being confined to his room nearly a year. He was in his 80th year, grew up in Virginia, came to Florida where he has enjoyed the climate and his work in the citrus groves.

He had always been unusually interested in educational work, always helping the your people in every way possible, was a member of the county school board many years and worked at the local school until the last bit of strength gave out. The school in body attended the funeral service at the church Wednesday morning.

Mr. Woolwine joined the Methodist church 36 years ago and has always been one of its main pillars. He took a great part in the young people’s departments, was a teacher and superintendent in the Sunday School many years.

To mourn his loss are his friends here and elsewhere; his widow, Mrs. Sallie Woolwine; a daughter, Mrs. Eva Varnes of Crescent City; a son, Ormond; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
