FLAGLER BEACH - Arthur D. Ballou, 78, of South Daytona Avenue, a former Dade County supervisor for Vocational and Industrial Education, Miami, died Thursday at Memorial Hospital-Flagler, Bunnell. 

Mr. Ballou, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Blackstone, Mass., and moved to this area in 1993 from Miami. He was a graduate of Florida International University. He was a member of Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Getrude; a son, Dan, Flagler Beach; two daughters, Mary Nesser and Elizabeth Cain, both of Miami; two brothers, Donald, Maine, and William, Warwick, R.I.; two sisters, Mary Kelley, Woonsocket, R.I., and Pat Staudinger, Warwick; and six grandchildren.
