Grace M. McCabe Chapman
Grace M. Chapman, 89, of Eldon, went home to God on July 21, 2007, at the Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1917 in Rochester, N.Y. to Charles and Priscilla White McCabe. She married Stanley Chapman on Sept. 14, 1940 in Cherrydale, Va. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1997.
She lived most of her adult life in North Linthicum, Md. and Flagler Beach, Fla. before moving to Eldon to live with her daughter, Priscilla. She was previously employed by the Civil Service Administration for the Dept. of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. and later for the Army Missile Shop at Ft. Meade, Md.
She was a member of the Secular Third Order of the St. Francis, member of the steering committee that founded the Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Md., member of the North Linthicum Improvement Association where she held various offices and an adult literacy volunteer for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine (J.B.) McCorry of Rochester, N.Y., Priscilla (Dale) Coffman of Eldon and Monica (Joe) Stua of Flagler Beach, Fla.; her sons, Mike (Mary Ellen) Chapman of Ormond, Fla., Scott Chapman and his partner, Stephen Johnson of Columbia, Md., Brian (Patricia) Chapman of Bel Air, Md., Steven (Sue) Chapman and Frank (Cathy) Chapman both of Arnold; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, Vincent McCabe of Rochester, N.Y.; and her Sisters, Frances Broughton of Cocoa Beach, Fla. and Marlene (Dan) Lacy of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn McCabe of Flagler Beach, Fla.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bonnie Crews and Rose Luke; her brothers, Charles, Joseph and Matthew McCabe; and a grandson, Richard Chapman.
Her body has been cremated and memorial services are being planned at a later date in Flagler Beach, Fla. with inurnment in St. Mary's Cemetery in Korona, Fla.
