FLAGLER BEACH - Walter Alexander Karbowsky, 67, of Ocean Palm Drive, a businessman in Flagler Beach, died Monday at home.

A native of Newark, N.J., Mr. Karbowsky came here in 1973 from Elizabeth, N.J. He also was a former school teacher at Layfette Elementary School, Newark. He was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge Ormond Beach.

Mr. Karbowsky earned his associates and bachelor’s of science degrees from Darleigh Dickerson University, Rutherford, N.J.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Jadwiga; two sons, Walter III and Gary, both of Flagler Beach; a daughter, Kathy Cowdrey, Orlando; his mother Evelyn Karbowsky, and a brother, Edward, both of Newark; and two grandchildren.

Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.
