Henriette Lapre passed away peacefully on August 10, 2013. She was born March 26, 1927 in the Dutch East Indies.

She came to the United States in 1958. In 1972, she retired with her family to Florida, then moved to Palm Coast in 1982. Due to her experiences as a survivor in a Japanese POW camp in the Dutch East Indies nursing the sick and injured, she felt drawn to volunteering in her retirement. She volunteered with several local charities and agencies. These include the Auxiliary at Flagler Memorial Hospital, Flagler Volunteer Services/RSVP, and the Council of Aging. Also she was a long time parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where she volunteered with the Ladies' Guild and the Outreach program.

Henriette was preceded in death by her husband, Henri "Han" Lapre, granddaughter Jaclyn Noel Tidrick, and five brothers.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Tidrick (Ohio), son John (Caryn) Lapre (Florida), sister Pauline Kertesz (Ohio) and brother Ferdinand (Ruth Ann) Tellings (Ohio).

Family will be receiving guests from 10 -11am on Monday, August 19, 2013 in the memorial room at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. There will be a Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery immediately afterwards.
