Johanna Maiorano, returned to the Lord on April 24, 2022, at her home in Flagler Beach Florida, while surrounded by her loving family. Johanna was born in The Bronx, New York and graduated from Cathedral Catholic high school in Manhattan, New York. After graduating high school she met the love of her life Joseph Maiorano and they married at Mount Carmel Church in The Bronx. Joseph and Johanna lived a blessed life and welcomed into the world three beautiful children. Johanna became an Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for many years in the medical field, where she aspired to become a Registered Nurse but had to change her career path due to her diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. After that she did various jobs that she was physically able to do with this disease and also focused on her family life. Together Johanna and Joseph moved from Mahopac, New York to Palm Coast, Florida and then settled into Flagler Beach.

Johanna will be remembered for her love of volunteer work at Flagler Hospital in Bunnell, Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, working with the blind, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Ladies Guild and various other organizations in the community. She enjoyed challenging activities such as learning braille, and mastering the Italian language, needlepoint and painting.

Johanna is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Joseph, her son Mark Maiorano of Palm Desert, California, daughters Paula Maiorano of Ormond Beach Florida and Christine Maiorano of Beacon Hill Florida. She also leaves behind so many wonderful nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. A mass of Christian burial honoring Johanna will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church 89 St. Mary’s Place, Bunnell, FL immediately followed by interment at the Saint Mary’s Cemetery, 21 Cemetery Road, Bunnell, FL.
