Memorial Mass celebrating the life of Loretta "Pat" Rose Maricle, nee Flaherty, of Flagler Beach, FL, who passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial, Ormond Beach, FL, will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, 915 N. Central Ave., Flagler Beach, FL. A private family interment will follow the Mass at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Korona, FL.

Loretta was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 31, 1916. She was one of six children born to Clara and Hugh Flaherty. Loretta volunteered during World War II in the newly created Women's Army Corp (WAC) and was one of the trainees assigned to the Daytona Beach facility; she was then stationed at Fort Warren in Cheyenne, Wyoming. There she met and married James Anthony Maricle in 1944. After the war they settled in Terre Haute, Indiana, and then moved with their four children in 1960 to Orlando, Florida. They later retired and moved to Flagler Beach. James died in 1993.

Loretta was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was affectionately referred to as MuMu by her grand and great-grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic all of her life and a parishioner of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church. Loretta was preceded in death by all of her siblings.

She is survived by her sons Michael James (Claudia), of Clearwater; Thomas Anthony of Orlando; Stephen Patrick (Susan), Melbourne; and her daughter, Mary Ann (David) Haas of Flagler Beach; eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
