Lawrence E. McGrath 78, of Palm Coast, passed away on July 27th, 2010.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 30th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy., Palm Coast, FL beginning at 10:30 am. The family will receive guests from 9:30 until 10:30am in the Memorial Room of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Lawrence will be laid to rest beside his wife, Millicent McGrath, following the Mass at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Elizabeth O'Neill, Vicky (William) McQuown, Scott (Dorothy) McGrath, Erin (Frank) LaRose, Linda (Peter) Davis; eight grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, and beloved wife, Millicent A. McGrath, and son, Phillip McGrath.
Arrangements are under the careful supervision of Lohman Funeral Home.

Lawrence Edward McGrath (Larry), born April 30th, 1932, died suddenly on July 27th, at his home in Palm Coast, Florida. Larry was born in White Plains, New York to the late Elizabeth Conroy and Edward Augustine McGrath.
He was a proud graduate of the St. John's Prep School in New York, and College of The Holly Cross (Class of 1954). He remained especially close to the friends made during this time and they were a lifelong source of support.
Larry was a high school math and science teacher and later, school administrator, in the Hauppauge, New York public school system. He and his late wife of 46 years Millicent raised their family on Long Island where they enjoyed a close and loving circle of friends.
They moved to Palm Coast in 1988, and became active in the Irish Social Club and formed many great friendships. Larry was also a devoted parishioner and member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Larry enjoyed a busy and active social life in Palm Coast. He was still working on perfecting his golf game. He enjoyed traveling and had many fond memories and entertaining stories of his adventures with family and friends through the years.
In addition to his wife Millicent he was preceded in death by his son, Phillip. He is survived by his five children, Elizabeth O'Neill, Victoria McQuown (William), Scott McGrath (Dorothy), Erin LaRose (Frank), Linda Davis (Peter). He is also survived by eight-grandchildren, Caitlin & Colin O'Neill, Ryan, Timothy & Lauren McQuown, Christopher, Thomas, & David LaRose. They will sorely miss their "Grandpa", and his sense of humor.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Catholic Charities Haitian Relief Effort, Catholic Relief Services, P.O. Box 17090, Baltimore, MD 21203-7090. Arrangements are under the careful supervision of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast.
